Surrounded by the residential streets of Memphis’ Kimball neighborhood, Sharpe Elementary provides the atmosphere of a village to nurture the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of all students. The public school serves around 300 children from the western side of Kimball, hosting a wide variety of events that invite community involvement in the village. Students range from pre-K to fifth grade and benefit from a teacher-student ratio of 12:1 throughout their elementary years. With the assistance of Title I funding, Sharpe Elementary assures students’ math and reading performance scores meet expectations and is always improving their research-based curriculum. Sharpe Elementary’s ample extracurricular activities include the Strings Orchestra, Sprouts Dance Team, Orff Music, Art Club and STEM Club. And children are equipped to be successful citizens with opportunities to practice real-world life skills in the Junior Achievement Program. The school also meets the needs of ESL students with expert bilingual coordination, ensuring no child is ever left behind. With faculty supported in the continuing of their own education and a focus on meeting the individual needs of all students, the village of Sharpe Elementary empowers every Eagle to be “ready for global success.”

I love the 2 teachers I know so far this is my kids 1st and last year attending sharp the principal is very unprofessional and over his head he does not know how to talk to parents or the children.

Indeed this school is a great school. They have wonderful teachers, i'll recommend this school anyday, my son started from pre-k and he is in 3rd grade now and doing so well. My only wish is for the state to do a renovation on that school.

This is a GREAT school..Eventhough the area it's in is not like it use to be...They have some really great teachers and the principal greets you and shake your hand.My daughter comes from Oakforest and its an optional school, they did not have teachers with patience for kids. Mrs.Harris (2nd grade)...

The attitude of the office staff, teachers & principle is so unfriendly.
