Albert E. Kagel School is a small, community-oriented dual-language elementary school that serves preschool through fifth grade children. Located in Milwaukee’s Walker’s Point neighborhood just a mile south of the downtown city center, Kagel prides itself on its small class sizes and teacher-to-student ratios.
Kagel is named for long-time Milwaukee Public School district educator Albert E. Kagel. He was a German immigrant who was also a local principal, assistant superintendent and acting superintendent in the early 1900s.
Kagel students prepare for college and career success, guided and supported by faculty and staff along the way. SMART Boards, computers and Chromebooks are in every classroom to facilitate and drive student achievement. The school values partnerships with local organizations to help drive the success of its students’ higher education opportunities and contributions to the community. Kagel students also benefit from after-school childcare programs in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee.
