Olson Middle School is located in the Shingle Creek neighborhood of North Minneapolis. Operated by Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), Olson serves about 375 students a year in grades 6 through 8. The academic schedule emphasizes literacy and math instruction across the curriculum, which includes science, social studies, language and literature, health and physical education, media and design, and music and visual arts. Olson participates in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, a coordinated approach to instruction used by schools in more than 100 countries around the world. It is designed to help students recognize the connection between what they learn in the classroom and what is happening in the world around them, and to help tie the various subject areas together. The school has an award-winning robotics program, which is part of a districtwide initiative that continues into high school. Fall, winter and spring athletics are offered for girls and boys, and the district collaborates with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the Minneapolis Youth Sports Association to provide students with an expanded schedule of athletic opportunities. Other after-school activities are offered through the Boys and Girls Club located adjacent to the school. Students from Olson continue their education at Patrick Henry High School in the nearby Camden neighborhood, one of 14 high school programs operated by the MPS.

It's sad because the students that go to Olson Middle school don't get a good education over half of the students don'...

An Asian girl was beaten by a group black students right after schools on 06-11-2021. They also recorded a video. Teachers did NOTHING, they did not call police or contact the girl parents. Olson Middle schools1607 N 51st AveMinneapolis, MN, 55430.
