Wildcat pride takes hold at Escondido’s Mission Middle School. Located in the heart of Escondido, the school has a long tradition of preparing the area’s students for high school and beyond, all with a strong dose of spirit.
At Mission Middle, a strong core curriculum is paired with a project-based learning program, countless clubs, and unique programs that promote global learning.
Throughout the year, students are exposed to project-based learning, an approach that brings real-world problems into the classroom, promoting teamwork and problem-solving skills. Through this approach, staff help students learn argumentative skills through live debate, and insist on the importance of collaboration to achieve a goal.
Mission Middle also offers enriching extracurriculars including Mission Television, a student-led film class that teaches students collaboration, perseverance and creativity. For those more interested in the fine arts, Mission Middle participates in the yearly smART Festival, a district-wide art festival that allows kids to showcase their creative work.
For the sports inclined, Mission Middle is home to two large sports fields, and with Grove Park just a few minutes away, students can appreciate the outdoors moments after finishing school for the day.
