GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

MBHS has incredible teachers who go the extra mile to engage students. The administration is very supportive of boosting college readiness and increasing club involvement. The student culture is non-competitive. I hope MBHS will increase funding for academic clubs and add more AP classes.

Staying in-district, I had a considerably a good experience in academics, the social setting, and sports. A few things that weren't so good was the cafeteria food at the time. Regulation of behavior, detention, and dress code weren't too common. The campus is now heavily fenced but gated. The black metal fence definitely discourages from students from leaving campus but if the school was more educating and disciplining, I don't think it'd be necessary. The worst part was the staff drama. Something I wish that was more wide spread and brought to attention was more basic need resources and accessibility to those resources. The stigma around mental health and those who are special-ed were not treated and not handled that well by other students.

I like that it is near the beach and all the students stay together since there is only one high school in our two towns. The staff could definitely use some changes, especially the counselors and the athletic department. Myself or my sister had terrible or no help with both these departments.

Despite the lack of bullying, and its respectful teachers and other staff, this school has an abysmal campus that is depressing to look at. MBHS unfortunately doesn't put enough emphasis on STEM subjects, and some of the dress codes and other policies are absolutely absurd. Although the students han...
