Becoming a high school graduate from Mount Dora high school had its ups and downs, but we really were "one team" especially, since some of us went through Covid together. We had fun Fridays where we listened to music and had hula hoops, as well as shaved ice. They had vending machines so if I got hungry I stop by before going to a class to get myself a snack. All of the staff members tried to make it a memorable moment to make sure that we had fun while still getting our education. What I would have changed about my high school experience was to be more involved. I played for the soccer team which I wouldn't have changed for the world because at the end of the day they were like family to me and we had each other backs. Football games were fun because everyone would be dressed up whether it was Hawaiian theme or a white out game. I was honored to be a part of the 2023 class for Mount Dora High.

My teachers have all been amazing. They really care about each of us as individuals and they tailor the work to our skillsets. I also really enjoy our ROTC program as Major Scott & Senior put in a ton of effort and work in helping us achieve our best selves. I put in a ton of effort and will volunteer to go above and beyond because of the environment and culture that Mt. Dora High School has set forth. Also, students really encourage one another here which is really rewarding.

This school (and lake county as a whole) allows bullying, and promotes a victim-blaming culture. If you’re an athlete, you can do and say whatever you want with no consequences. If you’re part of the “Mount Dora old money network” you pretty much run everything here.

I would rate my experience (four years) at this school very poorly. If you have the means, I would certainly recommend sending your child someplace else. My experience was generally negative. If you or your child wants to go to university and be successful, especially leaving the country/state or de...

I think my school is a good school overall but some of the teachers don't even do their job right! most teachers just write notes on the board and have us write them down and then we're done for that class period. teachers aren't teaching as much as they should. I am in 10th grade and it was the sam...
