Overbrook School is a private, co-educational Catholic school for students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 6. Located on the Dominican Campus in Nashville, Overbrook shares an 83 acre campus with St. Cecilia Academy and Aquinas College.
Overbrook is one of Tennessee's oldest private elementary schools and has been owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia since its opening in 1936. The school remains true to its tradition combined with innovation to provide students with an education based on the Dominicans' four pillars of prayer, study, community and service.
Overbrook students are part of an academically challenging curriculum in a nurturing environment where students are welcome to explore their gifts for athletics, the arts and other extracurricular activities. Students have a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience studying the environment through Beyond the Brook, a mini-farm on the campus complete with a garden, plants and livestock. Overbrook also offers the SOAR program for gifted and talented students.
While Overbrook welcomes students from all faiths, children receive a faith-based education through age-appropriate Catholic Catechism classes and weekly school-wide masses. Overbrook School's mission is to develop well-rounded students who have a faith foundation, are thoughtful, curious and serve others. Overbrook School is proud to have been recognized nationally as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the United States Department of Education, the first Catholic elementary school in Nashville to receive the designation.

As part of the faculty for many years, I can honestly say it is the best school I have ever worked. I have been a teacher at a couple of highly regarded independent schools in Nashville and when I heard of an opening at Overbrook I applied immediately. It was the best decision I have ever made. I love my colleagues and the children- it is a very sweet place.
