St. Cecilia Academy is a private Catholic school for girls in grades seven through twelve. Located on the Dominican Campus in Nashville, Tennessee, SCA is the oldest continuously-run private school in Nashville.
SCA dates back to 1860 when a group of Dominican Sisters from Ohio was invited by the second bishop of Nashville, James Whelan, to establish a school where young women could receive a faith-based education. The Dominican Sisters continue to operate SCA in their tradition based on the four pillars of prayer, study, community and service.
A tradition of excellence can be seen across the curriculum at SCA, with a dedicated faculty leading an average class size of 13 students. The challenging coursework and small class size have produced many National Merit Scholarship finalists, semi-finalists and AP Scholars. They later attend some of the top colleges and universities in the nation.
Outside of academics, SCA students are encouraged to take risks and pursue their talents through sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, cheerleading and lacrosse. Following the inspiration of their namesake, St. Cecilia, the patron saint of music, SCA girls can participate in a thriving arts program that includes a choir, a chamber ensemble and a highly-acclaimed theater program. The supportive environment of an all-girls school allows St. Cecilia Academy students to confidently try new things and discover unique gifts to share with others after their time on campus.

I have loved my time working at SCA. The students are eager to learn and desire to be good. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching my students continue to grow into themselves as upperclassmen and graduate with a knowledge of their gifts. I am very grateful for the community of staff here - everyone is eager to take part in the fun traditions, and we all have the same goal to love our students and empower them to lead a life of faith and truth.

SCA is been such an amazing school environment for me where I feel safe and valued. I love all my teachers and have made some very impactful friendships throughout my years here. I know I will be ready both academically and socially for college and beyond because of what I have learned at SCA.

We feel very fortunate to have our child enrolled at St. Cecilia Academy! There is a peace that envelopes you when you enter the school, and everyone who works there truly desires for you child to be successful academically and spiritually.
