Founded in 1951, St. Augustine High School has been educating young men from grades 8 to 12 for more than 70 years. The school has occupied the same building at 2600 A.P. Tureaud during that time, though it's gone through several expansions, including a wing in 1971 which added a gymnasium, music complex, and laboratories. In 2018, a new band room was built for the institution’s famous marching band.
The Marching 100 is among St. Augustine High School’s greatest achievements. Nationally recognized, this high-energy marching band has taken part in the Rose Bowl Parade several times. But for locals, it’s their yearly appearances in multiple Mardi Gras parades which spark true pride. Their hard work makes them a joy to watch and dance to, as they play for hours without a sour note.
St. Aug (as it's known throughout New Orleans) also stands out academically. Ever since the first class graduated in 1955, students have had a reputation for going on to colleges where they continue to excel. In 2022, 100% of the graduating class was accepted into colleges all over the United States. These students collectively earned more than $9 million in scholarships, demonstrating how much St. Augustine’s commitment to college preparation made a difference in their lives.

My oldest graduated from St. Aug. I pulled my youngest out. The school has went down tremendously. Teachers are very inexperienced and staff is unprofessional. Old buildings. Gum just got AC after 10 years. They have done a lot of beautification but it does not matter if what is going inside is brok...

St. Aug is an excellent school for the development of young men! Whether academics, sports, spiritual development and leadership, this school will motivate and prepare a young man for success.
