Success Preparatory Academy, also known as Success at Thurgood, is located on historic Canal Street in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans. Founded in 2009, the school moved to the Thurgood Marshall building by 2018.
Serving kindergarten through eighth grade, the college-prep school strives to provide academic challenges in an inclusive atmosphere.
One of the core values of the charter school is to build and retain community along with curiosity, courage, integrity and perseverance. The school provides students with a positive learning atmosphere where they can grow and learn from their mistakes, take on new challenges and lead happy, healthy lives. These are designed to help children become self-sufficient leaders and lovers of learning. Taking pride in diversity, equity and inclusion policies, the school is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act and teaches Braille. Transportation to and from campus is provided. Club sports include volleyball, soccer, flag football, and outdoor track and field.

My son has really thrived here. The support from the faculty and staff made his transition from private school to public school so much easier than I imagined it would be. I feel he is loved and I know he loves so many people there.
