City and Country School is located at 146 West 13th Street in the Greenwich Village section of New York City. It is considered a historically significant progressive school founded in 1914 by pioneer educator Caroline Pratt. Students attend from Pre-Kindergarten to 8th grade and the school currently has 324 students enrolled. It has a student to teacher ratio of 6:1 with 53 teachers on campus.
City and Country School has a yearly tuition of about $52,000 (Pre-School is $46,500), It inhabits seven landmark brownstones and their attached internal courtyards. It is known for the teaching of academic and social skills achieved through the use of Pratt’s creation. This includes wooden indoor unit blocks, as well as a Jobs Program. The Jobs Program allows children to continue to learn by doing which plays a central role in the School’s integrated curriculum.

The best of progressive schools around. Easy and warm environment for kids to learn. Super attentive teachers, involved, friendly, helpful and caring parents, with no airs. It's a really good community. C&C students usually end up being truly well rounded. Graduating kids get excellent placements typically in their top choice of schools.
