The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

For the most part, prepares for college. Lots of writing and group projects meaning you get to learn useful skills like collaboration (teamwork) and of course the positive and negative sides of teams and how to deal with it. There is a lot of work but projects are very fun and lots of room for freedom.

The teachers and staff care about the students and ensure that they are all succeeding. Teachers know each student and build lessons and projects that have students building stronger connections with each other and the community.

Central Coast New Tech High School is one of the best decisions and experiences I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. The entire school is 298 students, which may seem like a lot but it is one of the smallest schools in Nipomo so everyone knows each other. We are like one big family here at Newtech. Everyone knows each other, teachers included. This makes a high school experience so much better, to have a personal connection with not only students but teachers too.
I graduated from this school in 2017, absolutely the best culture and positive growth mindset oriented teachers who really helped me succeed. Just graduated from UCI and felt like CCNTH deserved the recognition, they definitely played a key part in getting me to where I proudly am today :)
I want to retire here! Incredible sense of academic excellence, authentic inclusiveness of all students, and project based learning at the highest level.
