St. Pius X/St. Leo Elementary School is a private Catholic school located at 6905 Blondo St., in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska. The school lies adjacent to Bowling Green Park on the park’s east side. Serving students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, St. Pius X/St. Leo currently enrolls 707 students with a student - teacher ratio in the classroom of eighteen to one.
With Chromebooks and SMART boards available for use in every classroom, St. Pius X/St. Leo is able to keep students on the cutting edge of technology. In addition, the school offers training in computer coding during school-wide “Hour of Code” sessions, a computer science program that introduces programming in a creative way.
St. Pius X/St. Leo Elementary School is proud to offer a strong Catholic faith foundation, incorporating liturgical components into its daily curriculum, and over 80 percent of its students go on to enroll in a Catholic high School.
Athletics are a key component of the after school activities offered at St. Pius X/St. Leo, and those involved show their school spirit as the “SPSL Panthers”. Available to the students are four sports: basketball, soccer, track and field, and volleyball. Also offered are several extracurricular clubs including chess and robotics clubs, several choirs, band, and multiple quiz clubs.
In 2021, St. Pius X/St. Leo Elementary School ranked in the top 20 percent of private schools in Nebraska, and has produced over six thousand alumni since its beginning in 1956.

Our children have attended St. Pius X / St. Leo School since Pre-K and have loved it since day one. The academic program is top notch; our oldest was well prepared to attend Mt. Michael High School. There are families from all over the Omaha area who attend SPSL - a nod to the welcoming school community at SPSL. We are grateful that our children have classmates and friends from a variety of backgrounds, countries, religions, and circumstances. We highly recommend SPSL School.

The people are nice, although it does get clique-y when you get higher up in the social classes. Teachers are pretty good and the experience is made even better by the people you hang out with.
