Bridgeprep Academy, Orange Campus, is a tuition-free public charter school located in the Engelwood neighborhood of Orlando, near La Costa Urban Wetlands. It is one of several academies in the Bridgeprep Academy network, which runs throughout Florida.
The school, which has a student population of 320, serves kindergarten through 8th grade and feeds directly to Colonial High School. Bridgeprep received Cognia accreditation for its quality educational performance standards.
The school has created an academic environment that "embraces the Spanish culture and language, incorporates innovative technology and promotes civic responsibility," according to its mission statement.
Participation in the school's STEAM program, an interdisciplinary curriculum that includes science, technology, arts and mathematics, provides students opportunities for high school advancement in information technology, career/technical certifications and dual-language programs.
Music education programs begin in kindergarten and continue through middle school, in addition to visual and performance art taught through a rotating schedule of "special area courses" and providing high school credits. Additional enrichment opportunities include before and after-school activities such as Spanish Club, reading club, student government and sports.
