Sharing its name with two former African American schools during segregation in Manatee County, Lincoln Memorial Middle School is following in their historic footsteps. The public school also has the same mascot, the Trojans, and blue and gray colors as its predecessors. Today, Lincoln Memorial focuses on training students for careers in demand now and will continue to be in the future. A medical magnet program teaches health science, covering topics like sports medicine, basic anatomy and common diseases. The school also offers engineering, business and art classes. An active agricultural science program includes hands-on experience with planting and animal care at the on-campus Land Laboratory. Members of the school’s Future Farmers of America club exhibit their work at the Manatee County Fair each year. Lincoln Memorial Middle School thrives in athletics, with teams competing in volleyball, basketball, flag football, soccer and cross country. Musically inclined students can participate in band and drumline, who perform for their classmates and community at annual concerts. The Lincoln Memorial’s mission is to help students through after-school tutoring and a free summer camp, where students are taught everything from financial literacy to robotics. Whether their passion is farming, technology or medicine, students can explore it at Lincoln Memorial Middle School.
