In the heart of South Phoenix, C.O. Greenfield Academy of Design and Innovation is a public middle school serving more than 500 students in fourth through eighth grades as part of the Roosevelt School District.
With a focus on the Socratic method of education, teachers at the academy encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and plenty of questions and discourse. Project-based lessons and regular educational field trips are integral parts of the learning experience at Greenfield.
Founded in an advanced STEM curriculum, the academy also prepares students for the 21st century with one-to-one Apple devices for all students, state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards in the classrooms, a coding program, and advanced programs that include a 3D lab, virtual reality experiences, and even green-screen technology.
Outside of the classroom, students can also pursue personal interests in a wide range of before- and after-school activities, from Boxing Club and Brain Games to music and robotics. While more civic-minded students can develop leadership skills in student council, the more athletic set build camaraderie and sportsmanship competing as Greenfield Cougars in basketball, soccer, or volleyball.

I would like for the school to better the education that it offers. I felt like the school didn't put education as its first priority, so I would like to see the school put more importance to it. What I did enjoy was the activities that the school offered, such as movie night. I also liked that they encouraged students to create their own fundraising activities in order to pay for field trip or other things.
