Only a mile and a half north of South Mountain, Champion Schools South Mountain is a public charter school serving children in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade in a fast-changing area near the Central Avenue corridor in South Phoenix.
Previously named a Charter School of the Year by the Arizona Charter Schools Association, Champion Schools help students achieve through a rigorous curriculum complemented with state-of-the-art technology in education. Through guidance by renowned Stanford University, the schools developed a variety of techniques to accelerate the success of all students.
With virtual field trips and a suite of supplemental software for core subject areas, the faculty here are empowered to further engage students in a 21st century mindset. Outside of a rigorous classroom curriculum, the school integrates personalized instruction to help the bottom 25% of performing students accelerate at their best pace.
On the athletics front, Champion Schools highly value physical health and fitness for all of its students and incorporates a minimum of 45 minutes of activity every day. Additionally, students can participate in junior varsity and varsity sports including flag football, basketball, soccer, baseball, kickball, and cheerleading.
Here, athletics and physical activity are just as important as academics in order to help students fully develop social skills and the camaraderie that plays into overall mental and physical health.

The office staff is the worst!!!!! This school has really gone down hill... I am very unhappy with the principals and the teachers.. I really do not see any improvement. My 3 kids are moving schools ASAP I can not keep them here for the following year.. I DO NOT recomend this school to any child that wants to excel in there academics...

Its funny to see such positive reviews but yet such LOW test scores on AIMS. It makes you wonder if the owner is writing the positive reviews ...just a thought. Oh yes, I wonder if people would want to send their child to a school that DIDN'T pay five teachers their two last paychecks because of fun...
