Nestled in a residential community of single-family homes, Ocotillo Elementary School serves more than 600 students in full-day kindergarten through sixth grade within the Washington Elementary School District of Phoenix.
As an Arizona A+ School of Excellence, Ocotillo lives up to its mission to “to foster an enriching environment that produces lifelong learners with the necessary academic and social skills to be successful citizens.” In addition to a core curriculum, the school includes instruction in art, music, and physical education for all grade levels in order to help students become well-rounded individuals with innate curiosity and drive.
When it comes to more personal development, Ocotillo hosts a gifted program, remedial after school classes, counseling, and a family resource center so students can achieve at their own levels. Outside of standard classes, children also can participate in band, strings, orchestra, chess club, choir, cheerleading, student council, yearbook, as well as a number of sports. There are also numerous field trips and other enrichment activities offered to students.
As for promoting overall well-being and safety for those it serves, the school provides free breakfast and lunch for all students, as well as KidSpace before and after school care (for a fee).

Ocotillo is a diverse school. I love being part of the PTO community. My kids have all been to this school. Some of the teachers have been here for years. Their after school academy is great and it teaches students kids great things
