Roger Williams Middle School began nearly 100 years ago as a junior high school serving the south side of Providence. Today, it remains true to its original purpose, with 900 middle school students, all organized into teams to create manageable learning communities. Roger Williams also participates in the national Turnaround Arts program, an initiative that highlights the arts as viable pursuit for students and a way to boost enthusiasm for school. There are also a number of other worthwhile programs offered, including special education inclusion, behavioral programs, and advanced academics for accelerated learners. Roger Williams also hosts a number of afterschool programs through Providence After School Alliance (PASA) and after school tutorial. Notably, RWMS also uses Generation Citizen's program in its current events classes, which essentially states that every student has the right to learn how to effectively participate as citizens. The school’s involvement in this program is forward thinking and ensures its students become engaged and civically aware citizens.

Roger Williams school is a big joke. The administration team are very unprofessional especialy the principal. They have no control over the school whats so ever.. I would not recommend any parents to consider this school .

My son has transferred to Roger Williams Middle School. I pray that he has a wonderful learning experience. I've heard stories in the past about this school., good and bad. Parents get involved!! Let's not sit on the sidelines complaining. PROGRESS IS THEY KEY! AND PARENT INVOLVEMENT......

This school is out of control and the students are violent. Principal does nothing to stop it or is not capable. Not all students-some really good kids but the bad ones make it dangerous for other students and adults. Needs security full time and cameras.
