GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Although I have attended Salamanca High School for my entire high school career, it is difficult to explain why I'm not sure if I would still attend Salamanca High School if I could redo it all. I have grown up with the same seventy-seven students for my entire life, so imagining life without the people that I have come to know is nearly impossible. Yeah, we have plenty of ups and downs, and fights and cliques, but doesn't every school? Every school has its own flaws (some have more flaws than others), but that just comes with the territory. You can't judge the integrity of a school on students that are given every opportunity for a good future, but choose not to take it. Honestly, the only thing that would make me not want to attend Salamanca High School is all of the current changes. Right now, the school is currently dealing with merging from just a 7-12 building to a 4-12 facility. Teachers are sharing rooms, instructors are being fired, space is limited, and even I am unsure of my surroundings. On top of all of that, we are trying to figure out a building plan to accommodate everybody. It is obviously a lot to take in and I don't know if anybody would want to enter that struggle, but I would be all in once it is all figured out.

The food at Salamanca High School is okay. The cafeteria is new, with plenty of seating options and a mainly self-serve facility for students on the go. The menu is also good--"Main," options are not repeated often. However, the lunches are expensive, especially if you don't want to eat a lot. Also, although there are plenty of healthy food options since Mrs. Obama set up the reform on school foods, there are not many choices for students that may be Kosher, Gluten-free, or Vegan.
