As a substitute teacher having taught in many schools, I wanted to recommend Whitman Elementary. It's a hidden gem. The class sizes are small which gives it the feel of a private school atmosphere. My experience was EXCELLENT! OF COURSE, my experience was from the schools opening and I was in 6th grade...must have been 1957 or so. Highlight: Monty Montana and his horse and rope tricks.

In my opinion, this is a ZERO STAR school with the exception of a few outstanding individuals...Ms. Karen in the office always made me and my students feel welcome, Ms. Maria in the classroom and Mr. Tyler in the classroom consistently showed my kids compassion and caring, unlike their primary teach...

This school is amazing. The teachers are great, caring and are all about making a difference. The office staff is wonderful. This school is the only one in the entire district that offers an oral program for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
