James Franklin Smith Elementary School (JFS) is a public elementary school located in the Evergreen district of San Jose, California. The school has a balanced curriculum and high-quality standards with the objective to develop intellectual, physical and emotional capacities of its students.
JFS opened its doors in the fall of 2000, and more than two decades later continues to serve the community of Silver Creek Valley. Through its "Learning Today, Learning Tomorrow" motto, the school aims to prepare students for their future careers. It utilizes California Standards of Achievement as the base of its curriculum and has demonstrated ample success for the students it serves.
The school consistently tests far above average, with the majority of students performing at or above their current level.
Currently, JFS houses 26 full-time teachers and about 650 students. According to US News, it has a 92.15% score, ranking 435 out of 5,534 schools in the state of California.
