I have attended San Leandro High for my whole high school experience. We had two amazing twin principals who had the ability to make every student feel seen and heard at every point in the day. They managed to remember all of our names, which gave us all a sense of individuality in a large school, such as our own. As I progressed throughout each year at the school, not only learn many life lessons that I can hold with me, but I've also grown a new family of friends and faculty. I can confidently say that I've had one of the best high school experiences I could've ever imagined of having.

I have done many things at SLHS I'm in an academy I've done 2 seasons of sport, I've done 5 shows in the theatre program on and of the stage I'm in clubs and have been in charge of clubs. I have an IEP. I've had very good teachers minus 3 out of my whole high school experience. I have problems with current administration tactics. I've struggled with students as I was a victim of a hate crime over my gender identity in the bathroom that was never solved. I have struggled with drama with "friends"Over I like this school.

My son’s experience in 9th grade left a lot to be desired. First off, at back to school night ‘for equity’s sake’ we aren’t going to let you go through each class on a schedule and have the teachers present to you, instead you can wander through at your own pace. This meant parents didn’t get to lea...

Shameful. It would be reasonably for the school to be closed down and individual student files, behavioral issues, and grade passing to be reviewed by an independent evaluator.

My son is a freshman at SLHS and we have several neighbors with older kids currently at SLHS or who are graduates. SLHS is a large urban high school that is ethnically and socioeconomically diverse. While this creates some challenges, I believe there far more benefits. In developing my son to one da...
