I am a former teacher at this school. I left because at CHS, failure is rewarded. It has the highest absentee rate of all schools in its district. Student apathy is rampant. Administrators care more about how a student feels than what they learn. Seniors graduate whether they have enough credits or not. Administrators enable parents and students to blame their teachers for their failure. Do not recommend.

I would like more opportunity for this school, to offer more language classes. The best part of my high school experience was being part of the band.

There are so many ways for students to grow at Capital. There are multiple AP classes, opportunities for dual credit, and the "pathways" at the school allow students to take extracurriculars they are truly interested in. The teachers all want the best for each student and teach because they want to. The campus is well taken care of, and the student-athletes are always trying to be the best students and athletes they can be.

The school isn t run by gangs, the amount of fist fights and misconduct is no more than any other school of the same size. The reason I say I would not send my kid here is b...
