Emek Hebrew Academy Teichman Family Torah Center is dedicated to offering an academically challenging and strong Orthodox education for Jewish children in Sherman Oaks by providing them with a comprehensive, well-balanced curriculum in both Torah and general academic studies. The private school offers religious and academic education for students in preschool through middle school, to prepare them for a religious Yeshiva high school education. The rabbinical educators at Emek Hebrew Academy strive to empower Emek’s students with strong Jewish values to carry after graduation. Along with an unwavering devotion to living a moral and ethical life, students are encouraged to proudly serve the Jewish community as a committed member, loving their Jewish identity. Emek Hebrew Academy offers many community events and gatherings. The Chol HaMoed Sukkot event for Los Angeles Jewish families is a fun-filled day with carnival rides and games, barbecue lunch, a video game arcade and performers who celebrate the holiday of Sukkot. Weekly father-and-son Shabbos services allow the generations to practice the teachings of Torah together and then participate in a sporting event to foster male bonding. Chanukah Bingo Bonanza is a winter fundraiser that helps support the graduating senior class and also celebrates the Festival of Lights. The Purim spring holiday is a very noisy celebration, as children are encouraged to use their loudest voices to wipe out the evil spirit of the villain Haman, part of a festive gala that tells the traditional Bible story with much laughter, food and spirited costumes.

Beware of this school. My 2 year old son walked straight out of their "supposed lock gates" of this school and NOT one adult noticed him leave!!!! He was walking in the street all by himself until a kind woman found him. PLEASE PLEASE think twice about this school.

This school teaches children how to be good people as well as provide for a wonderful education in both secular and Jewish studies.
