I enjoyed my time at SHS, however my feelings towards the staff changed when i was bullied my senior year. They didn't do anything really. I hated coming to school because the teachers ignored the fact that I was struggling.

Spencer High School is the best school in the area. However, it's very difficult there for kids who aren't middle class or richer and who aren't white. Generally, it was fine but could be much better academically. There's a big divide between the kids who do well in school and the ones who don't, so much that it seems like the teachers don't even care to see them catch up.

Some teachers do not incorporate the different ways students learn. They have a style and use it their whole careers, they learn nothing from their students. Other teachers adapt and move away from lecturing and other styles that are no longer effective. These teachers also seem to be the more approachable ones.

A few of the teachers are good, the guidance counselors are great, but the administration is awful and does very little to help students who fall behind or are victims of bullying.
