Home of the Wildcats, Tavan Elementary serves children in pre-K through fifth grade. When the school opened in 1954, the Phoenix area looked much different, but the school has continued to be a familiar landmark in the surrounding residential neighborhood.
As a part of the Arcadia Learning Community in the Scottsdale Unified School District, the school promotes academics, citizenship, kindness, and social consciousness. Here, students can excel in gifted and enrichment programs, pursue English language development, or explore their musical talents in band or strings.
With a library, computer labs, athletics, field trips, and free before- and after-school programs, students can always find different ways to further their development. Children can also participate in free summer school or summer camps for most of their break.
Tavan Elementary has earned an award in the past for being an A+ School of Excellence from the Arizona Educational Foundation, with reading and math test scores above the state average.
