Nestled next to C.I. Waggoner Elementary in a quiet residential neighborhood, Kyrene Middle School serves more than 750 students in sixth through eighth grades as part of the Kyrene School District. Here, the faculty believe in a mission to prepare students for life in the 21st century by fostering growth and global learning.
Most notably, Kyrene recently became an International Baccalaureate World School using the IB Middle Years Programme, which incorporates a strong foreign language program and international mindset to promote multicultural learning. Students here enjoy smaller classes than in most schools, with a 14:1 student-teacher ratio.
Outside of class, students can pursue a number of extracurricular clubs and activities including art club, jazz band, orchestrate, ultimate frisbee, National Junior Honors Society, and theater club, among others. In addition, the more active set can prep for high school sports with a robust athletics program that hosts teams in volleyball, cross country, wrestling, and many more.
As part of its district, Kyrene also offers a gifted program, Dual Language Program, after-school program, enrichment classes, and a series of other services for its community. Boasting a strong set of academics, abundance of athletic options, and numerous extracurriculars, Kyrene Middle School provides its students with plenty of ways in which they can excel.
