Woodland Hills Private School (WHPS), Collins Campus has been offering high quality Pre-K educational programs since 1996. It’s accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for offering an outstanding environment and an award winning academic program. WHPS has also received the R.O.S.E. Award (Recognizing Outstanding Schools in Education) by the state government of California. WHPS presets a balanced program that fosters physical, emotional, and cognitive growth in each child. Their unique curriculum brings together emergent learning and inquiry-based learning where children are active participants in shaping their own learning. Lessons plans provide opportunities that stimulate curiosity, lead to discovery, build self-esteem, and encourage mastery. WHPS utilizes four modes: Personal Interaction, Experiential Learning (Learning Centers), Group Participation (small formal/informal groups), and Project Approach (children-oriented projects). The Anti-Bias Education program focuses the four key areas of identity, diversity, justice, and activism. Enrichment classes in music, extracurricular activities, and interpersonal and problem-solving skills round out the curriculum and create an intimate and close-knit school community. The Collins campus also boasts an outdoor classroom (“Our Forest”), a mini ranch, a playhouse, a stage/performing arts area, and a veggie garden that complete this enriching environment for children. WHPS offers a warm, caring place for children to grow, learn and discover where parent involvement is welcome. As a leader in the field of education, WHPS is a school where ALL children succeed.

I am writing this review because I wish I had read a review like this when I was searching for schools for my 2-year old son. This would have prevented three very stressful months for our family with constant school pressure and more importantly would have helped my son’s development and happiness b...

My son graduated this past June after attending for 2.5 years. WHPS provided a wonderful foundation for him during his most formative years. It was a good combination of developmental and academic and learning was very play based. The kids went to the forest each week for outdoor lessons and spent a...
