Overall its a good school and good community although its in the middle of the desert it actually has a lot of opportunities to get involved in. The staff is extremely nice and helpful.

I love this school because of the size. Its small and everyone knows everyone. The teachers work with everyone and you get a great chance to get the teachers to work in depth with you.

Silver Valley is a small school. It can be a bit boring but it does grow on you. I believe the conditions could be better but there's only so much you can do for a small school. The best thing about the Silver Valley is the community. It's small enough to where everyone kind of knows each other. It forms a type of camaraderie amongst the students and staff that is rare in bigger schools.

The definition of a dysfunctional district administration. Parents are not informed about major events. The district management, which seems to be way too bloated for such a small school district, makes decisions without transparency, and without contacting the parents. Sports programs are woefully...

My experience at Silver Valley was overall, good. Teachers are able to help students on a one on one basis because of the smaller population and want their students succeed. Also, on a side note, I did not enjoy the math curriculum at first but must admit that it did teach me how to be a better probl...

SVHS is a very unique environment. For Fort Irwin students it is your option. Its small size and corresponding course, club, and athletic offerings will be to some students benefit. However, if you have a child who is driven to excel in academics or athletics or performing arts, it may be prudent to...

I was very nervous about sending my kids to this school at first. We were stationed at Fort Irwin, so this was pretty much the only option. Having friends who were employed at a neighboring school, I knew the Barstow area was not the best. However, I was pleasantly surprised. My kids had a good educ...
