A classic, relaxed Austin neighborhood
Situated in north central Austin, Brentwood has a classic neighborhood feel without sacrificing location. “It’s a relaxed neighborhood that has walkable streets and trails, all shaded by mature trees,” says Ryan Gomillion, a Realtor with Copland Property Group who’s been selling in the area since 2016. “You can find many parks and schools in the neighborhood, as well as several restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and hangouts.” The city of Austin annexed the area's land in the 1940s and many of the pitched-roof bungalows still standing today were built and inhabited by GIs returning from the war.

A wide range of property types and prices
While condos, bungalows and Craftsman-style homes are popular here, there are also many new, custom-builds. “You can find just about every size, shape, color and style home in Brentwood. Most of the neighborhood consists of historic homes that have been renovated or updated,” Gomillion says. "Homes and condos are currently priced between $300,000-$2,200,000. Brentwood has a wide range of property types and prices, making it an area most buyers can consider.” The yards here tend to be sizable and typically well-kept, and the streets throughout are great for walking. In addition to the single-family residences, there are several apartment complexes in Brentwood. Roughly 4 miles from the University of Texas campus, the neighborhood is popular with students as a convenient alternative to on-campus housing.

Right down the road, residents can visit the H-E-B for all their grocery shopping needs. West Koenig Lane is home to the sandwich shop Bird Bird Biscuit, Brentwood Social House coffee shop and small shops like Honey Hill Market, a vintage clothing store.
