Must Haves for Your At-Home Coffee Station

by Jackie FogartieFebruary 24, 2017

I don’t know about you but I most definitely cannot live without my cup of Joe in the morning! And sometimes one in the afternoon too, if I’m being honest. My coffee habit would have me going broke if I bought as many cups of coffee as I drink each day! The solution to my constant caffeine craving? A handy-dandy coffee station in my very own kitchen. Here are a few items sure to make your at-home coffee bar rocks your mornings!

Mugs, Mugs, and More Mugs

I have a mug addiction. I have an entire cabinet full of them, and a steadfast rule: when I purchase a new mug, an old one goes to Goodwill. Otherwise, the mugs would take over! While a lot of my mugs are from traveling or have been given to me as gifts, I love a good oversized mug! Crate and Barrel makes these simple white oversized mugs, and if you are looking for something a little more creative, these colorful stacking mugs from World Market are perfect for when you are trying to maximize space on your coffee bar! Anthropologie and Pier One also offer a plethora of unique, colorful mugs!

Coffee (Duh)

Obviously, you can’t have a coffee station without the main ingredient! Everyone has their preference – whether you like dark roast, bold, light, flavored or blonde, there’s a perfect coffee for you! Here are some of my favorite places to pick up coffee:
World Market: They have a whole aisle of interesting coffee blends and are often on sale!

Starbucks: You’re either a Starbucks lover or a hater, but I’m a lover. I like my coffee strong and Starbucks delivers! Coffee secret – you can find marked down bags of Starbucks coffee at HomeGoods pretty much ALL THE TIME.

Cafe Don Pablo: Don Pablo’s is sold at Costco and is one of my faves. Plus it comes in a giant bulk size so you’re getting a real bang for your buck!

Like to mix it up? Try a coffee of the month club like Bean Box Co. This company pulls from Seattle small batch roasters, so you know you’re getting a quality product!

Coffee Maker with Grinder

Can’t forget your coffee maker! I always recommend buying whole bean coffee and grinding at home for a fresher taste. These days, coffee makers come with built-in grinders and tons of other bells and whistles.

Basic model from Cusinart: There’s a reason Cusiniart has been around forever – they make a quality product. For under $100 you can buy a coffee maker with grinder, that is ultra reliable and makes great coffee!

Looking for something with more bells and whistles? If you’re looking to make fancy coffee shop lattes at home, look no further than this high-end Breville model.

Coffee Accessories

Coffee without cream and sugar is just… black coffee. If you prefer your coffee with some sweetness, like I do, this cute sugar bowl from Anthropologie is right up your alley. Did I mention it has a matching creamer pitcher?

Store your coffee in clear, airtight canisters like these versatile pieces from The Container Store.

Coffee Cart

Now that we have all your coffee “stuff,” where are we going to put it? The sky’s the limit, as long as it’s near an outlet where you can plug in your coffee maker! If you have extra room on your counter, that’s perfect. If not, find a little nook for one of these cute coffee carts. This wooden cart from Walmart has a great rustic look while this modern cart from Ikea has tons of storage! Both are on wheels so they are very versatile for other uses in the home as well!

With these coffee station must-haves, you’ll be operating your very own at-home coffee shop in no time! Happy Buzzing! is the place to dream and discover your ideal home!
