Asheville Is Progressive

Asheville is home to an artsy and progressive atmosphere. It has a creative vibe about it that is evident in all of its glory in the city’s River Arts District. Here, there are more than 20 colorfully painted buildings which sell the creations of local artists.

Asheville is also regarded as one of the country’s “greatest music cities” thanks to its many music festivals and iconic music venues like the Orange Peel and the Grey Eagle. Asheville is also home to the Moog Music Factory, the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, and the Asheville Lyric Opera.

Asheville is Currently Hiring

Since the market crash of the mid-2000s, most American cities have struggled to get back to work. But, that was never the case in Asheville. In fact, since 2009, Asheville has outpaced the rest of North Carolina and the country as a whole with its employment rate. In 2016, Forbes even named Asheville as one of the “best places in the country for business and careers.”

Asheville’s Food Scene is Off the Chain

With five James Beard-nominated chefs living and working in this small city, you can be sure that the food scene in Asheville is something special. And, with more than 250 restaurants, 18 craft breweries, and no fewer than 15 farmers markets, a foodie is able to find everything and anything they might be craving.

Some not-to-be-missed eateries include the White Duck Taco Shop, the French Broad Chocolate Lounge, Biscuit Head, and one of President Obama’s favorite BBQ joints, 12 Bones Smokehouse.

Asheville is Beautiful

From taking a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to visiting the historic Biltmore Estate to hiking through the forests in search of the hundreds of cascading waterfalls in and around Asheville, this is a city that is simply stunning to see, and even greater to experience.

Asheville is an outdoor lover’s dream, with miles and miles of hiking and biking trails, endless rivers and creeks for fishing, and some of the best golf courses anywhere in the world.

Asheville’s Real Estate Market is Hot!

Since Asheville’s last property tax appraisal in 2013, property values have risen by an average of 24% with some homeowners seeing value increases of 60% or more. This is far higher than the national average, and it is being fueled by the large numbers of buyers moving into the area.

Best of all, the housing stock is extremely varied in Asheville, with homes ranging in size and price, from cozy and affordable cottages like this 3-bedroom to sprawling multi-million dollar European-style estates.

With so much going for it, it’s no wonder why Asheville is being called a “city on the rise.” And the best thing is – it’s just getting started. Are you ready to make a move to Asheville?
