While these measures can work, they often don’t result in your home being sold as quickly as you might like. Because of this, you might consider the traditional home selling methods as the dial-up version in the fast-paced world of broadband.

Although these days, many sellers rely on their Realtors to get their homes sold, it’s important to also think outside of the box. Realtors place your home in the MLS and host open houses, but you’ll want to do even more to ensure your home sells in a timely fashion. Sellers now have a world of different marketing avenues where they can share their homes, and they should be taking advantage of them alongside the efforts of their Realtors. Marketing your home online will amplify the reach of your Realtor, and it doesn’t have to cost you anything but a little time. For instance, you can build a free website using WordPress or Blogger to showcase your property. You can create an ad on Craigslist. You can even share your home’s sale information on your social media platforms, such as Facebook or Instagram. Another excellent idea is to create a walk-through video for your home and post it on YouTube.

If you don’t mind putting in a few bucks for your online marketing, then you can list your property for sale in an eBay auction, use pay-per-click advertising with Google Adwords, create banner ads and have them advertised on relevant housing websites, and more. All of this effort will go a long way toward helping out your Realtor, especially in a hot market.

Start Networking

Networking is a proven way to improve a business’s reach, and it can have the same effect on your home selling reach as well. To network, reach out to local investors, your title company, your closing attorney, other sellers in your area, appraisers, brokers, home inspection professionals, other real estate agents, and local builders to see if they know anyone who might be interested in your type of home. When you build a network, you have several people sharing your information with others and you never know which one will land a sale.

There are also several creative ways and techniques to help connect you with the perfect buyer. For instance, you can post your ad on the bulletin board at your local grocery store, and make up business cards or flyers and post them on community bulletin boards in local restaurants, your library, on school campuses, in local businesses, and elsewhere.

Another thing you can do is search for “We Buy Houses” companies in your area, or search for real estate investors on social media.
