A Beverly Hills Mansion by Any Other Name
Fresh off a trip to Mexico with friend Channing Tatum, superstar celebrity couple Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are selling their incredible Beverly Hills estate. Levine is best known as the frontman and lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning band, Maroon 5. The singer has increased his fame lately as a judge on the hit television singing competition The Voice. Prinsloo, an international modeling phenomenon from the West African nation of Namibia, has built much of her fame by walking the runway for the lingerie and apparel company Victoria’s Secret.
The power couple has only owned the 10,000-square-foot, five bedroom, twelve bath Beverly Hills mansion for just over a year. They originally purchased the home for under $34 million from the co-creator of the television show Will & Grace, Max Mutchnik, and Los Angeles entertainment lawyer Erik Hyman. The property consists of the main three-story mansion, and a semi-detached guesthouse. The twelve baths and three bedrooms are split between the two.
A Mansion Fit for Remodeling by Another Power Couple
Reportedly billed as a “once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the most spectacular homes in Beverly Hills,” by Kurt Rappaport at the Westside Estate Agency, the home was put through a round of extensive upgrades and remodeling by Hyman and Mutchnick prior to being acquired by Levine and Prinsloo. Regardless, the singer and model who took over the home barely a year ago, dropped a reported $7 million on an additional major renovation of the entire property that included an exterior paint job, an absolutely fabulous chef’s kitchen, and an additional kitchen for catering.
In addition to the home’s two very well appointed kitchens, it also boasts a two-story stately entry, an absolutely beautiful fifty-foot long living room complete with a fireplace, a formal dining room large enough to accommodate more than twelve for a sit-down meal, a library that could double as a home office, a bar, a screening room, and a TV lounge connected to a solarium that opens into the home’s backyard.
The home’s master suite is 2,000 square feet in and of itself, and takes up an entire wing of the home’s upper floor. It includes several fitting closets and dressing rooms, a compartment-style bathroom for extra privacy, and its own sitting areas. The master bedroom opens onto a large terrace that leads to the service wing and aforementioned guesthouse.
The property has many exterior amenities, as well. These include a full tennis court with a viewing pavilion (the home was owned at one time by tennis superstar Pete Sampras), a double-gated driveway that leads to a private court and garage, the terrace mentioned above (complete with outdoor kitchen), a large swimming pool, a massive lawn, and many well-developed and mature plantings.
For $47.5 Million
Given the home’s asking price and the types of buyers who may be in a position to pay that price, it is likely that no matter who the mansion’s next owners are, it will go through another transformation to suit shifting needs and tastes. One can only hope that the new owners get to enjoy their remodeled Beverly Hills paradise for a bit longer than Levine and Prinsloo!
