Australian brothers Liam, Chris and Luke Hemsworth are selling their shared Malibu, California residence. Listed this week, the acting trio are asking for $4.9 million for the 4,612-square-foot home located in the gated, Central Malibu neighborhood.
According to the LA Times, the home was sold to the family in 2016 for $3.45 million. Since then, each brother has taken up permanent residency back home in Australia.
Originally from Melbourne, the three brothers now live in the Australian beach-town Byron Bay to be closer with family. The Hemsworth brothers are best known for their individual acting careers. While Chris and Liam are most recognizable for their work in various high-grossing films (“The Hunger Games” or “Thor”, anyone?), the oldest brother, Luke, has made a name for himself through multiple television roles.
Their Malibu home offers four bedrooms and four bathrooms, an in-home theater, a stunning view of the Santa Monica Mountains, a 750-bottle refrigerated wine cellar (it seems a Californian home would be incomplete without one), beautiful outdoor greenery, quartz countertops and a dream open-floor plan. In the spare bedroom, you’ll even find a standalone arcade game of “Big Buck Hunter Pro Open Season.”
The house has a simple, yet luxurious feel. Every room allows natural light to shine in, and every window offers a scenic view of the property. There’s even an outdoor deck complete with a hammock, fire pit and bright hanging lights. We can only imagine the fun, outdoor hangouts shared among the brothers, their family and friends!
When you walk through the entryway, you’re greeted with a view of the round dining set that sits next to the chef’s kitchen. While the space appears open, each wall is secured with sliding, floor-to-ceiling glass doors.
The listing displays an area entirely decked-out in one large, bookcase wall. The shelving doesn’t only house books — each ledge also stores small statues, artwork, pottery or home-decor pieces. Across from the wall sits another pair of double-glass doors, showcasing the dreamy outside view.
In the main suite, you’ll find a steam shower, custom-wood walk-in closet, luxurious bathtub and access to an outdoor sauna. The main bathroom has marble flooring and a double vanity. A consistent theme across the home is the use of light, wooden furniture paired with the white-colored walls of each room.
Our favorite part of this listing is the exterior and surrounding views. The colorful landscaping, plants and gardens add to the overall light, peaceful and private atmosphere the home brings. It checks off every nice-to-have we could possibly ask for — could you imagine looking out to this view each day? We know we can!
