Even if you are living in the house while listing, it's important to stage it like you aren't. Every morning, you will need to make sure the room is ready for any last-minute showings. Here are some instructions and a list of things to remember.
Make the bed
- Smooth out the bottom sheet and pull it tight
- Pull the top sheet to the top of the mattress and smooth it out
- Pull the top blanket or quilt to the top of the mattress and smooth it out
- Tuck excess sheets or blankets into the mattress
- Fluff and lay the sleeping pillows on top of the blankets and sheets
- Add a decorative pillow over the sleeping pillow and throw pillows
- Fold the comforter or throw blanket at the end of the bed
Reset the nightstand
- Clear off any glasses of water
- Collect personal items
- Unplug your phone charger
Tidy dresser and closet
- Make sure the drawers are shut
- Clear off the top of the dresser
- Make sure the laundry is folded and put away
- Pick up any dirty clothes and hide them in a hamper
- Hang your clothes neatly; don't leave anything on the door
- Tidy shoes or other items visible in the closet
