Fifteen miles northwest of downtown Austin near the shores of Lake Travis, the Four Points neighborhood is characterized by stately homes and mature live oak trees, close to all of the untamed beauty of the Texas Hill Country. “It’s a tremendous amount of people, who are moving to Austin for the first time, that buy their first home in the Four Points area,” says Craig Smyser, a broker associate with Fiv Realty who has decades of real estate experience. Single-family homes and condos provide an array of housing options

Buyers can choose between condominiums and new traditional single-family homes in Four Points. There are also multiple gated communities within the neighborhood. “There’s a broad spectrum. It’s predominantly a few master planned communities, but there’s definitely a few places without a HOA, and there’s lakefront properties,” Smyser says. For example, a home in the gated Preserve at Four Points community can cost anywhere from $630,000 for three bedroom, two bath properties up to $1 million for homes on oversized lots. There are an abundance of condominium units as well, many of which sell between $300,000 and $400,000.

Outdoor adventures at Lake Travis

"One of the big draws of Four Points is the outdoors,” says Anna Naumann, a broker with Elite Property Group with decades of real estate experience. “People love the area because it offers so much outdoor recreation.” Tom Hughes Park is about 5 miles from the community, meaning residents are a quick drive from relaxing on the shores of Lake Travis. Getting to the swimming areas of the waterfront park take some caution due to a steep and rocky path down, but for an easy trek to the lake, Bob Wentz Park is also 5 miles away. Dog owners can take their four-legged family members to Tintara Bark Park in the center of the neighborhood for a little exercise and socializing with other dogs and fellow dog parents.

Downtown Austin is a short drive away

Ranch to Market 2222 leads straight to Downtown Austin, set 14 miles away from Four Points. This main thoroughfare also leads to the Texas 360 and 1 Loop, which are used by commuters to get around the Austin area. Residents won't have to travel downtown to get medical care with Family Hospital at Lake Travis about 2 miles away. The neighborhood itself is very walkable with sidewalks lining most streets, but there is no mass transit in the area so residents do need to have their own cars if they want to venture around the area.
