Scenic walks at Copperfield Park
Nature lovers will enjoy living next to Copperfield Park, which features a playscape, a pavilion with picnic tables and a trail system. The Copperfield Trail is a 3.5-mile out-and-back trail where hikers encounter two small, spring-fed ponds and native birds. It is also a popular site for scenic walks with furry friends. Following the trail, hikers can reach the Walnut Creek Greenbelt, which consists of 206 acres of hilly wooded areas cut by creeks and ravines.
History and culture are close at hand. Jourdan-Bachman Pioneer Farms is a nearby living history park and museum that preserves and interprets Texas’ storied past, particularly in the 19th century. Here, visitors can step back into the 1800s through workshops in folk arts, guided tours and live reenactments.

Fast-casual dining and specialty hard seltzers
Come lunchtime, locals head to Red’s Smoking BBQ for delicious smoked meats. There’s also a Whataburger nearby for fast-casual dining. For their daily cup of joe, locals roll up to Dutch Bros Coffee, a drive-thru coffee spot serving espresso drinks, cold brew, teas and energy drinks. Groceries and other household essentials can be found at the H-E-B Supermarket, just a few minutes away. When residents seek something a little stronger, they head to Big Country Organic Brewing Co. The brewery serves beers and hard seltzers in fun flavors like Prickly Pear & Peach, Blackberry & Grapefruit and Watermelon & Kiwi.
Highland gams at the Austin Celtic Festival
One of the most popular local events is the annual Austin Celtic Festival, south of River Ranch in Pioneer Farms. Celtic artists perform music and theater at the festival and locals can master the art of Celtic highland games. There’s a showcase of Celtic dog and mini horse breeds, and locals can browse vendors selling Celtic wares.
Easy highway access
East Parmer Lane and Dessau Road are accessed from the neighborhood, leading to the highway and the larger city of Austin.
