A small suburb near well-rated Beaufort County schools

Pine Ridge is a small suburb from the early 21st century located just across the street from the Bluffton Schools Campus. "You could pretty much throw a stone and hit the schools from here," says broker Maria Skrip of RE/MAX Dream. Skrip is a Bluffton resident and has sold homes across the region since 2010. Niche rated the schools as some of the best in Beaufort County. And Pine Ridge's lower housing prices are a major draw. "Pine Ridge is perfect for families that are just starting out," Skrip says, "I sell a lot of homes over here because of how affordable they are." Skrip emphasizes the community's family-oriented nature. "A lot of families with children are here, especially because of how close the schools are," Skrip says. "You're going to see kids on bikes or out playing basketball."

New traditional and contemporary colonial homes

Homes in Pine Ridge sit close together on lots just under a quarter-acre. Most lots have at least one mature tree in their front yards and towering pines in their backyards. Nearly every house was built between 2004 and 2006, from the new traditional homes on Wiregrass Way to the contemporary colonials on Woodland Hills Drive. "Housing here is more traditional," Skrip says. "The homes here are nicely appointed but not too over the top." A new traditional home in Pine Ridge typically features between 1,200 and 1,500 square feet for prices between $330,000 and $400,000. Colonials trend larger, featuring over 2,000 square feet with four bedrooms. These homes cost between $400,000 and $470,000. A few homes have small front porches where locals place rocking chairs and wave to folks on the street. A sidewalk lines one side of Pine Ridge Drive, where locals bike or walk.
