A large multicultural community within commuting distance of NYC
Bensonhurst is home to a large multi-ethnic community, including one of Brooklyn’s biggest Chinatowns. “You have every type of nationality here. The only place that has more nationalities is Queens,” says Luke Constantino, a senior associate with Momentum Real Estate who grew up in Bensonhurst. Bensonhurst also benefits from two retail corridors, proximity to the shoreline and several trains. Some blocks can feel almost suburban with small yards and driveways, attracting families who want more space for the money. “This is an area where you can watch it grow and become part of the population, adds Constantino. “We're not over-saturated yet.”

Multifamily homes and boutique condos are common
Densely packed multifamily homes rub shoulders with boutique condos, but most buildings are low to midrise – allowing for plenty of natural light. Red brick rowhomes are a common sight, as are mother-daughter homes. Condos are another norm, and the neighborhood has experienced a condo boom that isn’t slowing down, especially around Bay Ridge Parkway and Bay Parkway. The housing average is $1.3 million. Prices start around $450,000 for a new one-bedroom condo and jump up to a minimum of $1 million for a single-family home with a shared driveway. Detached homes and tiny yards add to the price.

The area I live specifically is not too crowded like other places, not rowdy nor is there any danger in the neighborhood, there is a police station nearby. It's a quiet and calm area and there is public transportation nearby like a two minute walk.

I like how there isn't a lot of criminal activity and the people are nice, but it is getting too asian dominated rather than being shared by all races.

In this neighborhood, there are so many different schools that one can attend and they all provide the education all kids deserve. Because my old middle school is so close, I can easily walk over there and tutor current middle school students in math and science. Everything is within walking distance such as different forms of transportation and different businesses/shopping places.

The community is great and everyone is friendly. There is also a nice amount of supermarkets, clinics, and orthodontists around the area.
