A sought-after suburb of South Charlotte
Eight miles from Charlotte's Center City, Beverly Woods is one of the most coveted areas in Charlotte due to its location next to SouthPark Mall, its well-kept homes and its friendly residential feel. In addition to being adjacent to SouthPark, Beverly Woods is also the neighbor of a longtime golf club that’s a stop on the PGA Tour. Intentionally developed in the 1960s and 1970s to be a modern, affordable subdivision, the community retains its largely residential character. However, high demand and a wealth of luxury homes make this one of the more expensive neighborhoods to buy in. “It’s a very central location to shopping and dining. It has a great reputation in Charlotte," says Wendy Dickinson, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Realty, who’s been in the business for more than two decades.

From renovated ranch-style homes to grand custom estates
Beverly Woods is a dense network of subdivisions. Single-family homes rest on lots around a third of an acre that line wide and winding streets. Sidewalks are rare, and tall trees cover the neighborhood, adding to the established feel. Midcentury split-levels and ranch-style homes often have narrow driveways that lead to garages and carports. Stately styles, from brick Traditional homes and Colonial Revivals to Federal-style designs, feature decorative columns and highly landscaped lawns. While most homes range from $600,000 to $1 million, properties that haven’t been updated can fall between $450,000 and $600,000. “When older people move out, younger people move in and do full renovations,” Dickinson says. “The homes look old on the outside, but they are brand new on the inside.” The neighborhood also has townhouses starting at $320,000 and reaching $750,000, as well as a collection of custom multimillion-dollar estates.
As one of Charlotte’s coveted neighborhoods, Beverly Woods’ market moves quickly. Properties are sold after an average of 15 days, compared to the national average of 44 days. “We’re still in a seller’s market,” says Nelvia Bullock, a Realtor with Compass, who’s lived in the Queen City for nearly a decade. “When desirable upgraded homes with outdoor living space and parking come on the market, you’re probably going to have a dozen offers,” she says.

Fine dining and luxury retail at SouthPark Mall
Just outside Beverly Woods’ northern border lies SouthPark Mall, a city-wide destination with over 150 stores, including high-end and luxury brands such as Neiman Marcus, Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton. The mall is deemed the largest in the Carolinas, with residents visiting from as far north as Virginia and as far south as Georgia. Piedmont Town Center sits west of SouthPark, hosting dining options, including Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, an upscale spot for date nights and celebrations, and Duckworth's Grill & Taphouse, offering a casual vibe for American fare. Several shopping centers dot the neighborhood’s northern and southern ends for grocery shopping at Harris Teeter and Whole Foods.

A neighborhood YMCA and public parks along Little Sugar Creek
Beverly Woods is home to the James J. Harris Branch Family YMCA. In operation for more than four decades, the facility offers a range of programming, from fitness classes and youth sports to summer day camps. While there are no public parks within the neighborhood, several green spaces sit to the west along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. A community garden rests beside a small playground at Huntingtowne Farms Park, which also features several courts for tennis and basketball spread out along the banks of Little Sugar Creek. To the north, Park Road Park is a sprawling destination for team sports featuring multiple softball and baseball fields. With a trail circling its central pond, the park is also popular for morning jogs and hours of fishing. Its large playground rests on rubber turf in the shade of towering pines. Four golf courses are in the area, including Quail Hollow Club. Established in 1960, this private club will host the 2025 PGA Championship.

Community holiday celebrations and Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pops
Beverly Woods has an informal voluntary neighborhood association that hosts events such as an Easter egg hunt in the spring, a Halloween parade in the fall and visits with Santa in the winter. Other events are primarily centered in the SouthPark lifestyle area. One of the most popular is the Charlotte Symphony’s Summer Pops series, held at Symphony Park. Residents of all ages can pack a picnic and enjoy classical music on the lawn on summer Sunday evenings. The SouthPark and Piedmont Town Center areas host regular adult-friendly outdoor events featuring food, beverages and live music. Nearby in Uptown Charlotte, the Charlotte Hornets play basketball at Spectrum Center, and the Carolina Panthers play football at Bank of America Stadium.
South Meck cultivates bilingual students

Beverly Woods Elementary sits opposite the neighborhood off of Quail Hollow Road. Beverly Woods is a dreamy neighborhood. It is very safe and has great areas to get out and walk. Centrally located to many of Charlotte's best amenities, shopping and dining. It's about 2 minutes to a nice grocery store and shopping center. 8 minutes to almost any restaurant you want to go to. 20 min to Uptown. 20 min to Ballantyne. 40 minutes to University. Zoned for some of the best schools in the city. Lots of fully grown wooded lots. Mixed 1960's architecture including tri-level (split-level) and ranches. No house is identical though. Majority of neighbors keep their yards beautiful with pride. Everyone is warm and friendly. Diverse in age and SES (many people have lived here for 30+ years having purchased their home for around 100k), less diverse in ethnicity (predominantly white).
