Single-family homes, rentals and prices compared with nearby areas
Homes in Brookhollow were mostly built in the 1980s and ‘90s, with colonial, ranch-style and split-levels lining most streets. Driveways with attached garages are standard, and lots are typically smaller than a fifth of an acre. Sidewalks and low-traffic streets help create a friendly, tight-knit feel, which Maria Blauvelt, co-founder of the Bluefield Group, says is a major draw. “The neighbors watch out for each other… it’s like a neighborhood watch, in a sense.”
Single-family homes typically sell between the mid-$200,000s and the high $300,000s, with a median price in the mid-$300,000s. This makes Brookhollow in line with nearby neighborhoods like Scioto Woods, Golfview Woods and Trabue Woods, but generally less expensive than Marble Cliff Crossing.
50 percent of locals rent their homes, which Blauvert says can be an issue for homeowners. “The only frustration is the landlords from out of state, who buy the homes and then don’t take care of them,” she says. Even so, the strong sense of community and a family-friendly vibe has kept her in Brookhollow for 20 years. “When you have good neighbors, why leave?”
Contemporary designs are standard for the area.
Attached garages and two-car driveways are common.

School zoning varies between Hilliard and Columbus districts
Despite paying lower Columbus taxes, many Brookhollow residents are zoned for Hilliard City Schools, which Niche ranks among the top 10 school districts in the Columbus area. However, some pockets of the area are zoned for Columbus City Schools: one of the largest school districts in Ohio. Columbus City Schools leans heavily on school choice, with magnet and alternative programs tied to a districtwide lottery, so getting in often comes down to luck and how many seats are open. Hilliard City Schools takes a more straightforward approach, using transfers and open enrollment, where decisions are based on space and district rules rather than a lottery. Columbus Preparatory Academy, a highly ranked charter school, is next door in Scioto Woods.
Beacon Elementary School serves grades prekindergarten through fifth grade.
Students frequently attend school in Columbus Public Schools or Hilliard Public Schools.

Easy highway access puts jobs, shopping and entertainment close
Brookhollow is tucked between I-70 and I-270, making it easy to reach entertainment, shopping and major job areas. Downtown Columbus, Hilliard, Upper Arlington and Dublin are all 10 miles away or less. Even with those highways nearby, traffic tends to move pretty smoothly, with few spots known for serious backups. Sidewalks connect the residential parts of the neighborhood, but they don’t extend into most commercial areas, so most people rely on a car to get around. That said, the Central Ohio Transit Authority has bus stops along Trabue and North Wilson roads.
Parks, trails and golf courses offer easy outdoor escapes
With trails, playgrounds and plenty of green space, Trabue Woods Park and Scioto Woods Park are popular spots on either side of Brookhollow. If you want something bigger, Quarry Trails Metro Park is about 4 miles away in Scioto Trace. Once an industrial rock quarry, this 182-acre park has lakes, hiking trails and a 25-foot waterfall. Raymond Memorial Golf Course is a public facility in Golfview Woods that features an 18-hole course and a popular driving range.
