Brookside Colony
Suburban Neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio
Franklin County 43235
Midcentury and Traditional designs
With the heaviest construction beginning in the 1980s, Brookside Colony’s houses are more contemporary than those in nearby communities like Kendale or Olentangy Commons. Midcentury-inspired split levels and ranch styles dot the streets on quarter- and eighth-acre lots. Traditional designs from the early 21st century also crop up, with amenities like bay windows and vaulted ceilings. Prices range from the mid-$300,000s to the low $500,000s, usually based on size and location. “They’re more affordable while still being in a great neighborhood,” says a Realtor with Keller Williams Consultants, John Brunner.17 acres of wildlife in the city
The Sawmill State Wildlife Education Area is a 17-acre urban wildlife area operated by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Visitors are encouraged to take in the flora and fauna of the wetlands from the boardwalk or observe the migration of butterflies at one of the four Monarch waystations. Opened in 1922, the Brookside Golf & County Club is a private golf club with an 18-hole course with lush fairways and tree-lined holes. The club also has outdoor and indoor tennis courts and an Olympic-sized pool. The Flannagan's event complex is a local favorite year round, with regular live events and six indoor beach volleyball courts.Highly ranked Dublin schools
Dublin City Schools serves most of the neighborhood. Students will begin at Indian Run Elementary, which has an A from Niche, before heading to Ann Simpson Davis Middle School, which has an A-minus. Dublin Scioto High School also has an A-minus and is ranked eighth in Niche’s list of the best college prep public schools in Columbus.Home of Safelite Group
Brookside Colony has been the home of the Safelite Group’s headquarters since 1990. Currently, there are over 2,500 people employed at that facility, making it one of the largest employers in the Columbus area.Easy access to all of Columbus
Brookside Colony is between Interstate 270 and Route 161, both busy local thoroughfares. “You’re inside 270, so you can get anywhere in Columbus in about 15 minutes,” says Brunner. Downtown is 14 miles southeast, while the John Glenn Columbus International Airport is less than 20 miles southeast. The OhioHealth Dublin Methodist Hospital is less than six miles west. The Central Ohio Transportation Authority runs buses along north/south roads at either end of Brookside Colony. Sawmill and Smoky Row Roads each have multiple bus stops.Asian fusion at Clove
Clove Indian Bistro offers a fusion of flavors found all over Asia, with a menu that includes Szechuan chicken, Thai curry and chicken korma. Anna’s Greek Cuisine has been serving authentic Greek cuisine since it opened in 1997. Local favorites include the lentil soup and baklava. Nearby Sawmill Road has a steady collection of restaurants, storefronts and grocery stores, including Kroger and Walmart Supercenter.
