The neighborhood is settled in the center of Ladera Ranch, a master-planned community just outside the city limits of Mission Viejo. This unincoporated community in Orange County offers pools, parks and shopping. Each neighborhood has access to Ladera Ranch amenities. Echo Ridge Village is centrally located, putting residents in proximity to all Ladera Ranch has to offer. While the views are the main draw to this neighborhood, it also has highly rated schools, access to a variety of shopping and dining and recreation.

Modern Traditional homes in Echo Ridge Village
Echo Ridge Village, like all of Ladera Ranch. was developed in the late 1990s. Most homes are Modern Traditional in style. These homes, nearing 30 years of age, will soon be released from Mello-Roos fees, an additional tax applied to certain properties. As the oldest homes approach 30 years of age, since since the neighborhood’s development in the late 1990s, buyers are interested Echo Ridge as the tax will soon expire, says Amy Sims, a Realtor at Coldwell Banker Commercial Realtor. Lots are uniformly sized and shaded by palms and flowering plants. The neighborhood is located in the center of Ladera Ranch at its highest peak. Echo Ridge Village’s hilltop location offers panoramic views of the neighborhood's swells and valleys and the surrounding parks and orchards. Homes vary in style, from modernized Spanish and Colonial Revivals. Prices for these single family homes range from $1.2 million to $1.9 million. There are a handful of condos and townhouses in the neighborhood. These properties sell from $815,000 to $1.3 million depending on the size of the unit and the amenities offered by the condo or townhouse complex.

Award-winning Ladera Ranch schools
Capistrano Unified School District serves Echo Ridge Village. Kids can start school at Ladera Ranch Elementary School, which earned an A from Niche. Ladera Ranch Middle School, also rated A, earned recognition as a California Distinguished School. Multiple Teacher of the Year recipients work at A-plus-rated San Juan Hills High School. Plus, U.S. News and World Report ranked the high school in the Top 150 California Schools for 2023-2024.
Ladera Ranch Middle School is a public school serving students from grades 6 to 8.
San Juan Hills High School is home to the Stallions.

Frog Park and walkability to Founders Park
In the northeast corner of the neighborhood is Frog Park, a pocket park with picnic tables. Sienna Botanic hiking trail loops through the neighborhood and winds through Ladera Ranch. Sims says an appeal of the neighborhood is its proximity to Founders Park. This large community green space offers a fully accessible playground, a 12-acre multipurpose field, volleyball courts and soccer fields. Plus it serves as a social hub for the city of Ladera Ranch.
Children will enjoy the swings at Founders Park in Echo Ridge Village.
Wagsdale Park in Ladera Ranch is a well-maintained park for dogs to enjoy themselves.

Events at nearby Founders Park
“Echo Ridge Village is within walking distance of Founders Park, so it’s close to all the Ladera Ranch Events,” says Sims. The Fourth of July celebration is the community’s largest event, featuring rides, a parade and live entertainment. Other holiday events occur at the park, like the egg hunt at the Spring Celebration. The Harvest Festival, held in October, has food, arts and craft vendors and live entertainment. The Ladera Ranch Farmers Market also operates in the park on Sundays, offering produce, artisanal goods and crafts from local vendors.

Mercantile East and Mercantile West offer shopping and dining
While the neighborhood is entirely residential, shopping and dining are only a couple miles outside Echo Ridge Village. Mercantile East and Mercantile West are two extensive shopping plazas in northeast Ladera Ranch. Mercantile East offers a bank, urgent care, gym, dentist office and salons. Shoppers can pick up essentials at Trader Joe’s or browse at Tilly’s or Homegoods. The plaza offers fast-food eateries and sit-down spots like Lemon, Life Sushi and LOC Dumpling and Noodle Bar. Mercantile West offers more shops, such as Stater Bros. and Ulta Beauty. Breweries and restaurants are also available for meals out.
Ten Mile Brewing is a popular hangout spot for Echo Ridge Village residents for craft beers.
Echo Ridge Village residents can play rounds of bowling at Lucky Strike Ladera Ranch.

Driving from Echo Ridge Village
There is no public transit in Ladera Ranch. Residents are within walking distance of parks and community pools, but they will likely need a car to access shopping. Personal transportation is also necessary for leaving the neighborhood and traveling to nearby areas like Irvine and Santa Ana, home of the nearest airport, about 20 miles northwest on Interstate 5. Traveling south 10 miles south on Interstate 5 leads to Capistrano Beach.
