Community and connection in Wrigley Heights
Wrigley Heights is a small residential pocket in Long Beach and one of a few neighborhoods that make up the larger Wrigley area. Many residents are homeowners, and they’re often drawn to its setting, which feels calm and established while providing convenient access to major freeways and the Metro A Line. That mix of privacy and connectivity extends into daily life, with green space close to home and shopping and dining a short drive away. Local events and gatherings also help foster a strong sense of community.

Single-family homes, plus the Golden Point condo community
Nearly 90% of Wrigley Heights residents own their homes, and single-family houses make up most of the housing stock. You'll find a mix of early 1900s bungalows, midcentury ranch-style homes and newer infill properties throughout the area. Many of the older houses have been renovated to suit modern tastes. Homes tend to sell from the low $700,000s to just under $1 million. However, as Tony Lanz, agent with eXp Realty of California, says, “There are not a lot of sales here, and when something does come up, it goes pretty quickly.”
In addition to the single-family homes, the gated Golden Point community, located just south of Wardlow Road, has some condos. Similar to the rest of the neighborhood, listings rarely come on the market, but recent sales have ranged from the low $500,000s to the low $600,000s.
Some homes date back to the early 1900s.

Freeways and the Metro A Line allow for easy travel
One of Wrigley Heights’ advantages is its balance of accessibility and seclusion. Residents have easy access to Interstates 405 and 710, as well as a Metro A Line station located directly east of the neighborhood. Despite being well connected, the area remains relatively calm. “There isn’t much through traffic,” Lanz says. “Waze is not going to cut you through Wrigley Heights.”
From here, it’s about 25 miles to Irvine or Anaheim, and the commute to either usually takes between 40 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on traffic. Los Angeles is a similar distance and travel time.
The Metro A Line allows for car-free travel.
The Long Beach Airport is a short drive away.

Nearby Los Cerritos Park has even more amenities, including sports fields, a playground and a community center.

Access to businesses in Signal Hill, Bixby Knolls and North Wrigley
Wrigley Heights is primarily residential, but there's a small shopping center at the corner of Wardlow Road and Pacific Place that's home to a donut shop and La Chiva Colombian Restaurant. A few minutes beyond the neighborhood, you'll find a wider range of shopping and dining options. In Signal Hill, there are retail chains like Petco and The Home Depot, along with a variety of restaurants. Bixby Knolls has locally owned boutiques and cafes, as well as a Trader Joe's. North Wrigley is just to the south, with an Albertsons grocery store and additional casual dining spots.

Getting together with other Wrigley neighborhoods
Although downtown Long Beach is known for its large-scale festivals, the Wrigley community as a whole hosts smaller gatherings throughout the year. They include:
Daisy Lane Christmas Parade, a holiday tradition that has brought decorated floats to Daisy Avenue since the 1950s
Wrigley River Run, a two-day event that kicks off with a pizza tasting on Friday and continues with a race along the LA River on Saturday
Annual Pie Baking Contest, where homemade pies are baked, sampled and judged by local residents
