Candlewood offers lakefront living in midcentury ranch-style homes

If the west Omaha neighborhood of Candlewood is any indication, lakefront living and the popularity of midcentury modern ranch-style homes have come full circle. Both were highly popular real estate options in the 1960s and '70s, when a owning a ranch house on a lake projected a certain kind of "cool." Today, the popularity of ranch-style floorplans is surging again, as young buyers find them more competitively priced than larger homes from the 1980s and ‘90s, and as new retirees seek out the ease of a one-floor living space. If you’re looking for a waterfront, midcentury home with abundant updates, you’ll be delighted with the unique character of Candlewood and its quiet, relaxed vibe.
