Eagle Run Drive forms the main route through Champions Run between North 132nd Street and North 144th Street, with residential enclaves branching off to the north. Most homes are New Traditionals, with brick construction and four or five bedrooms. Champions Run’s homes sell for between $600,000 and $1.7 million, though properties on sporadically hit the market. Golf, swimming and court sports are front and center. The club’s five hard-surfaced tennis courts are overlaid with lines for six pickleball courts. The 25-meter pool is lined for laps and is equipped with a diving well and a shallow area for children. Champions Run’s golf course was built with various skill levels in mind, playing as short at 5,300 yards, and its undulating fairways and greens are its hallmark. The club operates a swim team for kids, along with a soccer program and junior golf programs. An indoor tennis complex and landscaping improvements are the main focus of a facility expansion, scheduled to be completed mid-2025.Across Maple Road, Omaha's Tranquility Park is crisscrossed with foot trails and sports facilities, including 28 tennis courts at the Koch Family Tennis Center. An indoor ice rink is immediately adjacent, and plans are underway for further expansion and upgrades of park facilities. A little farther north, Standing Bear Park surrounds a reservoir by the same name, with trails, a playground, a radio-controlled airplane strip and a historic marker in honor of Chief Standing Bear, who in 1879 argued successfully in federal court that native Americans deserved the same rights of due process as other citizens.A full selection of public and private schools
Students in Champions Run can attend Picotte Elementary, rated B-minus overall by Niche, before moving on to Buffett Middle, rated C-plus overall. Burke High rounds out the list with a B-minus and a diversified set of music programs. Parents enrolling their students in private schools might consider St. Vincent De Paul Catholic School, which scores an A from Niche, for kindergarten through eighth grades. Several air carriers serve Omaha's Eppley Airfield with flights to an array of domestic destinations. Champions Run Golf Club has three dining establishments available to members. These include a grille, an equally casual dining room and an upscale, reservable, candlelit dining room. Other restaurants are half a mile outside the community, on the other side of West Maple Drive. The Eagle Run Business Center immediately north of Champions Run is complete with a Baker’s grocery store and pharmacy, as well as big box stores and restaurants. After a shopping run, residents might sit for a meal at Hiro 88, a Japanese restaurants serving fresh sushi rolls and sashimi.
