Hotbed of Hollywood homes near downtown Palm Springs
Conveniently located just steps from the popular shops and restaurants of downtown Palm Springs, The Movie Colony is known as one of the city's most popular neighborhoods for Hollywood stars. "Some of the more current celebrities are peppered around, but back in the day, the neighborhood of choice was The Movie Colony. That's why they called it that, because they had so many stars," says John White, a Realtor with Equity Union who has sold multiple homes in the neighborhood, including one that belonged to Bob Hope. This relatively small neighborhood is made up of a few blocks of houses just east of Palm Canyon Drive. Buyers here can live among the stars while having easy access to all that downtown Palm Springs offers, including highly-rated restaurants, local shops and eclectic art exhibits.
