Cordova Lane
Neighborhood in Rancho Cordova, California
Sacramento County 95670
Mostly midcentury housing, including many renovated properties
Largely built in the 1950s, ‘60s and ‘70s, homes in Cordova Lane include ranch-style and two-story properties, often with partial brick exteriors and low-slung roofs. “There’s a lot of older homes that have gotten remodeled, which attracts people because you get good bones and square footage while staying in the range of $500,000,” says Elena Rotari, a local real estate agent at Better Homes & Gardens Wide with six years of experience in the greater Sacramento area. “And you get a bigger backyard than in the newer communities.” Generally, home prices range from $350,000 to $600,000. Though lot sizes tend to be on the smaller side, homeowners find space within compact front yards for cypress trees, rock gardens and low-water plantings. Some multifamily properties are located in the neighborhood’s south side, though they rarely go on the market. Recent duplex sales went for between $500,000 and $600,000.Nearby Ahlstrom Park is home base for Little League games
Ahlstrom Park is the central green space in Cordova Lane, featuring a playground, picnic area, and a baseball field that hosts Little League games. The park hosts the annual Little League Opening Day Ceremony every March, which includes a parade of the various teams, along with snack vendors and sponsorship booths. The nearby Federspiel Park has wide open grassy fields shaded by mature pine trees and another playground.After-school activities within a popular district
“The Folsom-Cordova School District has a great reputation,” Rotari says. Williamson Elementary earns a B-minus from Niche, as does Mills Middle. The latter offers an after-school Math Club, where kids can train to compete in the MathCounts Competition Series. The B-rated Cordova High has well over a dozen extracurricular activities, including anime, badminton and Rubik’s Cube clubs. The school’s agriculture academy includes a Future Farmers of America chapter, which prepares students for careers in agriculture while fostering leadership skills.Close to the freeway and Sacramento’s Gold Line light rail
Downtown Sacramento is about 15 miles away on U.S. Route 50, which has an on-ramp about a mile away. Sacramento’s Gold Line light rail borders the community on the south side and leads to downtown Sacramento. In addition to the light rail, Sacramento Regional Transit bus stops and bike lanes are located along some major roads. Mercy San Juan Medical Center is less than 10 miles away, and Sacramento International Airport is a little over 25 miles away.Businesses, from local to national, on the neighborhood’s south side
On the neighborhood’s south side are a few casual eateries, including the family-owned El Puerto Restaurant, which serves Mexican food. Tugboat Fish & Chips is a go-to for fried food with quick counter service. Several shopping plazas just outside Cordova Lane house national chains like Target, Grocery Outlet and Marshalls. Aside from commercial businesses, Cordova Lane is home to various Christian institutions, including Saint Clement’s Episcopal Church and the New Life Center Church.
